Most descriptions accompanying photos, films and from the letters are included in their original condition. It concerns common language in the 1940s – 1960s. This language and views are dated by today's standards, and we certainly wouldn't write it that way today. Descriptions are often as old as the archives themselves. We choose to keep these because they reflect the time in which they were made. At the same time, we are exploring the possibility of explaining language that was acceptable and common in the past and providing alternatives.
